Home Based Business Niche Power

In the quest to have success in a home based business there are a lot of important factors. One thing however that I feel is often overlooked or not spoken about is the power of the niche. Anyone who is trying to have success in any type of business needs to know exactly what their niche is about.

When McDonalds started out they weren’t trying to have the best tasting hamburger. Their niche was the fastest hamburger. So if you were a working class guy on our lunch break you knew if you came to McDonalds you were going to get your burger in record time… that was their niche. Good food fast.

Have you really sat down to think about what it is that you offer to the public that is unlike what other competitors or offering? If not it’s important that you do so right away. Because the sooner you narrow down your niche the better.

Having a great niche is especially important when you’re marketing online. There are so many different home based businesses out there that if you don’t do something to make yourself stand out you’re going to get lost in the crowd.

Your niche can be about your product or service but it also should be about the business opportunity. Think about what type of people you’re trying to attract. Do you want to build a team of people who have been in MLM before? Do you want a team of blue collar workers because that’s who you relate to? Do you want to build a team of passionate and excited young adults? Whatever it is that’s your niche and you want your niche to be as narrow as possible.

Believe it or not someone who’s marketing a niche like “work at home college students in Arizona” will have better results than someone who’s just marketing a generic work at home opportunity to anybody and everybody.

Does that mean that you should turn someone down from joining your business just because they don’t fit into your niche? Of course not! You should have all types of people on your team. However, by marketing to a more specific type of person you’re going to get more serious prospects sooner and you’re going to be in the top rankings of the search engines faster.

Take some time and find the right niche for you. It will pay off big time in the end!
